Helping a hero

One October,2012 night 33 year old Navy Sailor Brett Parks was leaving a prospective personal training client when he heard screams coming from the clubhouse pool area. He ran toward the screams. Running toward him was a young man and he felt compelled to grab him. The young man fired a gun point blank range into Brett’s gut.

He was rushed to Shands Hospital where he spent two months hanging on to life through several operations and eventually losing his leg and the use of his kidney. “This guy had us really worried on several occasions said his trauma nurse. We really didn’t think he could sustain his injuries

But, just two months after this ordeal Brett is now in Tampa for evaluation and will be begin rigorous physical therapy today.

Brett and his wife Susan are expecting a sister Stella for 18 month old Jason on December 12th. The Parks children have a true hero for a Father.

So many things are needed in a time like this. Mostly prayer which we offered up immediately. JTTF was able to help with a monetary gift. We are honored to welcome Brett and his beautiful family to our family. We are so happy we could help.

Thank you for your selfless act. You are our hometown hero Brett Parks!
